Earth Day Party!

  • Crestwood Regional Park 1673 East Siesta Drive Cottonwood Heights, UT, 84093 United States (map)

April 22nd is Earth Day, and Rooted in Play Outdoor Learning is throwing a party for the Earth!

Earth Day’s purpose is to expand public interest in environmentalism, and it has given people a reason, every April 22, to talk about the future of the planet. Earth Day started for all of the right reasons—to make positive change in the world and to help promote care for the planet. The founders chose April 22nd specifically so young people would be able to participate and get engaged.

On Saturday, April 22nd we’ll gather at the park and start by caring for the Earth with a community trash pick-up. Then, we’ll celebrate the Earth with a party, by “cooking-up” some muddy treats in an outdoor kitchen.

The chance to clean-up the park and stage a party for the Earth, is a marvelous, age appropriate way to celebrate Earth Day, inspire creative mess-making/pretend play and help everyone feel a genuine connection to and appreciation for our planet and our community.

Make sure everyone is dressed for mess!

This is a FREE, drop-in event and all are welcome. For location details or questions, send a message to Shannon at rootedinplaylearning@gmail.com or (516) 528-0098.
