TG Monthly Class | Spring
Join us for a monthly, weekend class this Spring!
This Spring, we focus on empathy—the special human superpower that we use to understand our emotions and see the world through other people's eyes. In this heartfelt series, kids will learn to recognize emotions (emotional empathy), take another's perspective (cognitive empathy) and care for each other and the planet (compassionate empathy). All lessons follow a steady progression and are organized into three different units:
Making Faces (lesson 1)—We kick off by identifying the six basic human emotions and learning to read others' emotions by looking at their faces. To support this, we'll use nature treasures and mud and/or forest putty to create faces to show and understand various emotions.
Forest Friends (lesson 2)—We’ll help kids turn an ordinary sock and some rice into their own "Forest Bunny." Then, we'll introduce our new friends to our class community and special forest friends playground.
Celebrate the Earth (lesson 3)—We'll wrap up the spring season with a party for the earth—our most treasured gift! We'll whip up a pretend feast to celebrate our planet and create a nature curtain with hand-written or illustrated promise cards to earth.

PROGRAM INFO
These play and nature centered enrichment classes follow the thoughtfully designed Tinkergarten© curriculum. Each season, the lessons focus on supporting children in developing one of 8 core skills they need to become curious, capable learners, who can contribute to their world. The program is designed for children ages ~18 months to 8 years old, with a parent or trusted caregiver. Classes meet once per week for approximately 75 minutes and welcomes all seasons and weather (per safety guidelines), encouraging resilience and wonder in young explorers. Families leave each session with inspiration and ideas to continue the playful learning at home, too.
*Have a child under the age of 18M? Consider joining our Nature Babies program—an outdoor and sensory-focused play class, especially designed for children ages 6M-18M and their parent or caregiver.
